WHAT ARE THE CONDITIONS NEEDED FOR PERFECT VOICE OVER RECORDING?
To begin with, you need a room for voice recording that is acoustically treated, free from echo or other noises and external sounds. Besides a soundproof room, you need appropriate technical equipment: a microphone, headphones, a monitor for video playback, an audio interface, a mic preamp, studio monitors, and an audio controller, among others.
The quality of this equipment affects the quality of the sound recording. Typically, for high-quality sound recording, studio equipment can be quite expensive. One of the most critical factors is the sensitivity of the microphone.
Usually, you need several microphones for different types of voices, especially for deep male voices, bright female voices, sung vocals, and voice-over for commercials.

POST-PRODUCTION
In broadcast projects, there are several levels of sound creation to achieve the final master that goes into broadcasting.
The first phase involves recording the voiceover. Then, the raw audio is edited, which means listening to it, cleaning it from breaths and errors. The best-interpretation files are selected and different parts are combined. Sometimes, one syllable may need to be replaced in a word to achieve a successful performance. Similar to visual editing, audio editing plays a significant role in ensuring the final sound is good.
In the second phase, we move on to sound editing in a specific project with images, music, and sound effects. This is where we enter the world of SOUND DESIGN.
Each sound designer has their sensibility and their own sense of beauty that they incorporate into their final result.
Since there are numerous tools, plugins, and techniques, each designer has their style and system to achieve a successful post-production. Much depends on whether the final mix will be impactful, pleasing to the ears, and meets the predefined radio and television standards. Similar to the aspect of recording where microphone quality, sound cards, and microphone preamps are crucial, in sound design and mixing, the quality of studio monitors (speakers) is paramount.
You need to have extremely high-quality studio monitors that will display your sound image very realistically and in detail.
Without too much or too little bass, high frequencies, midrange frequencies, and so on. Of course, checking is always necessary, so you should test your mix on at least one other pair of monitors, a mobile phone, TV speakers, and the like. If the result is satisfactory on most of these, it means the mix is successful and ready for broadcasting.
Sometimes, 85% of the result can be achieved in a short time with the help of experience and craft, but for the remaining 15% that fall into the category of artistry, and which set your work apart from similar ones, it sometimes takes a lot of time. Clients often do not understand this, but that’s how things are.
